CHANGES TO WEEKDAY MASSES THIS WEEK

The priests of the parish will be away from Christchurch from Monday 8th March until Thursday 11th March.  They will be gathering with Archbishop Paul and the other priests of the Diocese during this time.

Therefore, please take note of the weekday Mass times for this week:

Monday, 8th March:                 8:30am Mass at Carmel, 5:30pm Mass at Addington

Tuesday, 9th March:                 8:30am Mass at Carmel

Wednesday, 10th March:         8:30am Mass at Carmel

Thursday, 11th March:            8:30am Mass at Carmel

ADORATION and CONFESSION DURING LENT: during the Season of Lent, in addition to our usual Exposition and Sacrament of Reconciliation times, there will be Adoration and Confession 7:00pm – 8:00pm in our churches as follows:

 

St. Peter’s, Beckenham, Thursday, 4th March
Sacred Heart , Addington – Thursday, 18th March
Sts. Peter & Paul, Halswell, Thursday, 25th March

 

 

STATIONS OF THE CROSS DURING LENT: 

Tuesday, 7.00pm at Sts Peter & Paul, Halswell

Wednesday, 6.30pm at Sacred Heart,  Addington

 

ALTAR SERVERS:  If your son/daughter has made their First Holy Communion they are welcome to serve as Altar Servers for the Parish. We are still short on numbers for OLA, St’s Peter & Paul, and Sacred Heart communities. We would like to invite your child to join in this most important ministry. Please contact Sandra on sacramental@christchurchsouth.org.nz. Full training given.

YOUTH MASS AND YOUTH GROUP: The first Youth Mass in our parish for 2021 will be on Sunday, 7 March, 5.00pm at Sacred Heart Church. This will be followed by Youth Group activities in the Hall from 6.00pm-8.00pm. All students Year 7 and up are welcome. Please bring a plate of food to share. CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE HALSWELL: Due to alert level changes our book sale planned for this weekend has now been postponed and will be held in the Halswell Parish hall before and after the two Masses on the 20th and 21st March (assuming we have moved to alert level 1).

DONATIONS TOWARDS ATTENDANCE DUES: The parish currently pays Attendance Dues for 9 children whose families experience hardship. If you would like to assist the parish in this, you may do so via online banking (reference Att Dues donation) or by placing a marked envelope in the collection plate. Please include contact details if you require a receipt.  Thank you.
