THE RITE OF ACCEPTANCE for those enquiring about the Catholic Church was celebrated Sunday 8th October at the 10.30am Mass at Sacred Heart Church. This is the first of the Rites of the “Order of Christian Initiation of Adults” (Formerly known as R.C.I.A). Regan Harper, Paul Tonkin and Jade Tonkin are saying ‘we are interested in the Catholic Church and wish to keep enquiring and learning more about Christ and his Church’. These enquirers are not baptised and they now become “Catechumens,” The Ritual says: “From this time on the Church embraces the catechumens as its own with a mother’s love and concern.” (RCIA #47).
Please keep Regan, Paul and Jade in your prayers as they begin their journey to Baptism and First Eucharist.
